Looking for a simple carport for your RV? Does your RV overpass the 12-foot standard height from the flyers?

At American Steel Carports, we ensure that our metal buildings meet all of your expectations and needs. We can accommodate your requirements, especially when it comes to building permits. Keep in mind that we can add as much material as your unit needs in order to make sure it’s fully protected and certified for the requirements of the city. However, it’s important for you to go to your local building department and talk to them in order to verify all of the state codes. Since all of the states have different requirements when it comes to installations, they might need to see plans or specifics.

When our customers look for metal RV covers, they can be concerned when the leg height that they’re looking for isn’t listed on the pricing flyers. But that doesn’t mean that we cannot go taller than 12 feet; in fact, the tallest we can go on a building is 20 feet in height. However, keep in mind that the leg height cannot exceed the width of the unit.

Take this metal carport as an example. It’s 14 feet tall:

  • A-Frame Vertical Roof

Our industrial-sized steel wide buildings are standard-built in widths of between 32-40 ft. and lengths of up to 50 ft. However, our steel wide span units can be built up to an impressive 80 ft. wide and a sky-scraping 20 ft. in leg height, most often requiring the use of machinery.* If that wasn’t impressive enough, our wide spans can be made to meet almost any length specifications. Because of our wide span framing systems, we make it easy for you to add future extensions to your steel buildings as your needs grow.

 

 

American Steel Carports’ metal wide spans are made in both our 12 and 14-gauge acrylic-coated galvanized C/Z tubing, ensuring that they have the strongest frames possible. They are built with our heavy duty A-frame vertical roof as an only option. When enclosing a wide span unit, you will notice that the side and end panels are also installed vertically. This style will give your structure maximum strength.

 

 

When a customer decides to place an order for a wide span building, however, there are a few things that they should know. First, all wide spans must be installed on concrete piers, slabs, or footers. There are a number of reasons why this is required, but the main one is to ensure the durability and longevity of the structure’s placement. Although American Steel Carports does not pour concrete or do any concrete work, we staff the most educated engineers in the industry, and they will always be happy to assist you with any questions as well as offer recommendations regarding your foundation. In addition, from our experiences with installing large units, customers who purchase wide span buildings will most likely be required to obtain construction permits. Although American Steel Carports leaves the responsibility of contacting their local code enforcement to its customers, our company will make it easy for you to obtain a copy of the generic plans or certified blueprints of your structure.**
