A-Frames Built for Style and Strength

When thinking of a carport or a steel garage, it’s more than likely that the standard roof style comes to mind. These roofs, recognizable for their 3’/12” pitch and curved sides, can be seen throughout the United States. You may have noticed that the panels on the roofs run from end to end, with a 6-inch overhang. Customers who are seeking cost-effective storage solutions have been happily ordering them from American Steel and enjoying the low cost and maintenance results for many years. However, as the need for storage has expanded, so have the needs of our customers.

American Steel Carports proudly offers several roofing options to fit your needs. Here, you will read about our A-frame roof style features and options. With the A-frame’s continuing popularity, it is no wonder why more and more customers are asking about the benefits of the A-frame and deciding to make the upgrade.

A-frame styles have definitely become a growing trend. They look fantastic in residential areas and provide additional strength to carports or steel garages. American Steel Carports offers the A-frame with the choice of placing the roof panels either horizontally or vertically. Both of these options require a minimum of a 6-foot leg height to accommodate the 4’/12” pitch. They are both finished with a beautiful box eave trim and a 6-inch overhang.

The differences between the two can be quite interesting, though. The A-frame horizontal option is installed with the panels placed along the length of the carport or garage. This roof style has gained in popularity recently because it offers customers an affordable way to match the roof styles of their homes and/or existing garages. In comparison to the standard-style roof, it does allow for some additional protection from snow loads because of its higher pitch.

For maximum protection, however, American Steel Carports recommends the A-frame vertical roof, especially in areas that have larger snowfall or strict snow-load restrictions. With the vertical design, the panels run from the ridge cap downwards, giving the snow, ice, and debris very little chance to build up.

Both the A-frame horizontal and the A-frame vertical can be enhanced with additional truss and bracing to ensure that you have as much protection as you need. Also, your questions, thoughts, and concerns can be properly addressed by calling one of our skilled sales reps or highly educated engineers. Whether you are going for style or additional strength, American Steel Carports has you covered.

Bringing You To New Heights – RV Metal Carports

Are you an RV owner or thinking of becoming one? Your plans to store your RV are going to depend on its size and how often you will be using it. Why pay large fees to protect your travel home with a storage company when you can just own your own carport? American Steel, like other carport companies, is often associated with covering and storing automobiles. Did you know that American Steel Carports also makes buildings tall enough to cover your RV? We offer standard pricing for RV metal carports and garages as high as 12 feet tall, and we offer custom pricing for those who need additional clearance.

RV metal carports are similar to regular carports and are typically made with our standard roof. Like regular carports, they are open on the sides and ends. Our customers may decide to partially enclose their units or upgrade their roofs to one of our A-Frame styles. Because of the height needed to store your RV, American Steel recommends that you choose an anchor system that insures your investment with our 90 mile/hour wind warranty. Ask our sales team for more information on this.

For maximum protection, furthermore, you might want to consider a fully enclosed garage. Most customers request doors or openings on both ends of a garage that can be driven through. American Steel carries overhead doors that are up to 16 feet tall and roll-up doors that are as high as 18 feet. Our customers also have the option to add a walk-in door for additional convenience. Also, you can never go wrong with a garage that is large enough to offer the added benefit of storing your other belongings.

With American Steel Carports, the sizes and options are limitless. If you can dream it, we can build it. American Steel brings you to new heights!

Boat Dock Carport Installation

Owning a boat is a major investment. They are also your best friend in the water. As with all cherished items, you should protect it. Every day most boats endure a cycle of temperature and humidity changes; from a dry bright sunny day to a hot damp night which can take a toll on your beloved possession. For these reasons and more, good boat protection is important.

Most boat owners own a fabric boat cover. Consider a higher initial investment of a steel boat shelter that will be more economical in the long run. Our metal carports come in variety of styles and sizes for all types of boats with various features. We can also configure them with entries on the end or sides, utility storage section wherever you imagine, or simply a fully enclosed building. Our metal structures can be installed on land, concrete, or even a dock. However, we will clarify the dock installation process.

American Steel Carports installs on stationary boat docks and some floating boat docks. Floating boat docks present a major risk for our installation crew and the stability of the metal carport. If the carport will be installed on a dock, please contact American Steel Carports directly at 866-730-9865. We will need the following additional information:

  •  Is the boat dock a floating dock? or a dock that is connected to the lake bed? or the lake side?
  •  We will need pictures of the boat dock and surrounding area.
  •  We will need pictures of the pathway to the boat dock our installers will need to take for the installation.
  •  We will need to know the estimated distance from where our installation team will be able to park to your dock
  •  What is the boat dock made of; wood, steel, plastic etc.

Once we have this information we can check to see if we can approve the installation request. Please note: There WILL be an additional labor fees due to liability issues and the installers safety.

Once we have approved your request and scheduled, expect that the installation of your carport on a dock will take approximately 3x more than a regular ground installation.

Hopefully this has helped you understand the process of getting your boat dock metal cover. A well informed customer is key to maintaining a healthy relationship!
