Our metal structures can be installed on land, concrete, or even a dock. However, we will clarify the dock installation process.

 

American Steel Carports installs on stationary boat docks and some floating boat docks. Floating boat docks present a major risk for our installation crew and the stability of the metal carport. If the carport will be installed on a dock, please contact American Steel Carports directly at 866-730-9865. We will need the following additional information:

 

  • – Is the boat dock a floating dock? or a dock that is connected to the lake bed? or the lake side?
  • – We will need pictures of the boat dock and surrounding area.
  • – We will need pictures of the pathway to the boat dock our installers will need to take for the installation.
  • – We will need to know the estimated distance from where our installation team will be able to park to your dock
  • – What is the boat dock made of; wood, steel, plastic etc.

 

Once we have this information we can check to see if we can approve the installation request. Please note: There WILL be an additional labor fees due to liability issues and the installers safety.

 

Once we have approved your request and scheduled, expect that the installation of your carport on a dock will take approximately 3x more than a regular ground installation.

Fort Worth Stock Show

Fort Worth Stock Show 2015

Cowtown buzzed with excitement from January 16 through February  as the annual Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo commenced its 119th exhibit at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. This 23-day extravaganza hit off successfully breaking the 2012 record of 1,166,000 attendees. The surprisingly warm winter months allowed the show to break a handful of other records as well.

 

Over 20,000 head of livestock participated in the spectacle with exhibitors representing 41 states and 3 foreign countries. The Stock Show provided and continues to provide livestock participants with thousands of grant and scholarship money, having awarded more than $20,000,000. Apart from encouraging youthful agricultural activity participation, this non-profit organization strives to promote and improve the livestock and agriculture industry. Families got the opportunity to attend livestock shows, enjoy live music, eat delicious food, and do some unique shopping. Sprawled across the Amon G. Carter and Brown-Lupton Exhibit halls, and cattle barns, a diverse array of booths attracted visitors, including our “Big Red Barn” exhibition display. Famous country FM radio station 95.9 The Ranch, who paired up with us, also attracted many visitors. Our representatives were equipped with information answering any questions clients had about our products. Weekly raffles were held and top-notch prizes were given to lucky customers, as well as lots of small freebies.

Scheduling & Delivery Process of Carports & Metal Buildings

Due to some confusion with customers, American Steel Carports would like to share some information on how we go about delivering buildings to our customers. We hope that this will help improve our level of transparency and help you understand how we are able to provide high quality products with free installation for the low prices that you love. Below we have broken down the whole scheduling and delivery process.

 

Scheduling

 

The first step in getting our orders together is grouping orders by location. Locations are no more than about 60-80 miles and are grouped together to what we call a “run.” American Steel Carport’s schedulers encounter vast challenges in organizing and arranging a run. Oldest orders are prioritized with other considerations such as order size, route, weather, and other factors. Our highly trained installers require at least a total of $10,000 worth of buildings to be on a run in order for them to accept it. The run will typically be scheduled for two days either Mondays/Tuesdays or Thursdays/Fridays. Your scheduler will give every customer a day and a time window in which the installer should arrive. We give general time frames to allow for unexpected delays in the arrival of the installers (i.e. Flat tires, Traffic, Bad weather, etc.).  Unfortunately, these are events that we cannot prevent.

 

Delivery

 

As mentioned earlier, unknown factors can come up during the delivery process. These factors can include the following:

 

  • –  Customer delays
  • –  Installation Issues
  • –  Equipment Issues
  • –  Weather
  • –  Health of Crew

 

Due to the above factors, American Steel Carports recommends our customers to set aside 24 hours of their time to allow for any unexpected issues. In case of a delay in the run, your scheduler will contact you with a new time-frame. If original time-frame was late afternoon, the delay can possibly be until next morning depending on the degree of the delay.

 

As you can see the process is very dynamic. The good news is that the average of the runs that encounter a delay are about 2-3% of total runs in a week. Unfortunately, that 2-3% percent is what causes the majority of poor reviews and complaints. Everyone values their time and delays are an inconvenience to all. For that reason, we hope our series of blogs will help provide invaluable information to our customers so they are knowledgeable and understand our product and processes but most importantly, be satisfied!

3. Prior to choosing a carport location, check your local code specifications. It is important to consider your area’s building permit laws: you might need a permit to have a building on your property. The geographical of your structure location should be elevated. Prior to installation make sure you have the flooring prepared-whether it’d be concrete, wood, or plain ground.

 4. Clients should also consider who they are purchasing from. With the multitude of carport manufacturers across the country, there are various to choose from. However, not all are reliable and trustworthy. Often times businesses repeatedly run the wrong order or continuously run late, thus delaying customer installation delivery dates.
