4 Things to Consider When Buying a Carport

Since their initial appearance back in the early 1900’s, carports have had a substantial high demand in the market. Because the industry has grown more complex, consumers have to put more thought into what unit to choose and who they are buying from. From car coverage and protection to workshop areas, the uses of these metal buildings are limitless. However, there are a few things  you should consider before buying a carport, from quality to the work ethic of the business. The process of purchasing a product should run smoothly and be an excellent experience from the sale representatives and the manufacturer to the customer service and installation process. We want you to be satisfied with your decision. That’s why we’ve created a list of important things to consider when buying a carport. Read below for some food for thought.

Top Factors to Reflect Upon

You must decide if you want to purchase your building from a local or online dealer. Many of our  clients buy our carports from local dealerships where they’re surrounded by one or more of our demo displays, thus giving them a personal glimpse. You can also contact us directly by calling our shops in Texas, Pennsylvania, Illinois, New Mexico, and Indiana, which service more than half the states of the nation.

Take note on what you are looking for. Perhaps you simply need space to park your car or need a larger building to store large capacity vehicles. We offer different roof styles such as an A-Frame Vertical Roof, A-Frame Horizontal Roof, and a standard roof that will better suit your needs and satisfactions. Our knowledged staff can give you suggestions if you have any doubts regarding your choices.

Prior to choosing a carport location, check your local code specifications. It is important to consider your area’s building permit laws: you may need one to have a building on your property. You should also make sure, before installation, that the flooring is prepared ‒ whether it’d be concrete, asphalt, or plain ground. The geographic of your structure location should be leveled.

Consider investing in any additional add-ons. We offer skylights that allow the sun to shine through your structure, dismissing the hassle of electric costs and light installation. Depending on the flooring we also provide concrete, asphalt, or mobile home anchors for extra reinforcement that will maintain your carport secure.

We aim to keep our clients satisfied before, during, and after installation day. If you order a product from our company, you will receive engineered certified steel structures with free shipping and installation. With these services we include you won’t have to worry about transportation or construction issues. Our buildings will last for years, so we know you need a company who will be there for you and support the product you purchased, and who will stand behind it. This is what sets us different from the rest. Choose your carport manufacturer wisely, choose American Steel Carports, Inc.

Let’s Get Your Vehicles Protected

We’re almost halfway through March, folks! It’s time to get your metal garage ready before the intense heat starts to hit us. Our metal garages will protect your vehicles, equipment, or any valuables you might consider storing inside.

All of our garages come in different sizes. The key to getting a good-sized metal garage is to know the dimensions you’re looking for. Many customers will freeze when we ask what dimensions they want. That won’t stop our experts from recommending certain sizes that will work for you – but keep in mind that if you need the additional space to store something besides your vehicle, it would be better for you to measure the space needed.

Take a look at this 30’W x 31’L x 12’H garage:

There’s plenty of space for your vehicles and enough to fit an average-sized truck inside. It also has a vertical roof, our most recommended roof style, horizontal siding, 2 (two) 10’ x 10’ roll-up doors, 2 (two) 30” x 30” windows, and a 36” x 80” walk-in door.

What if I like the concept of the building, but I need to change the length?

We would be more than happy to customize your metal garage according to your needs. All of the pictures we post are live examples of what we can do. If you need us to customize it, we will do it!

What if I like everything about the building except the colors?

With over 13 (thirteen) different colors to choose from, you can add your personal touch to your metal garage.

Don’t wait too long! Give us a call and let one of our experts help you customize your metal garage! And don’t forget to ask about our financing options!

3-Bay Metal Building

If you have multiple vehicles at your house, it may be a little challenging to get every single one protected from the weather, especially if the only garage you have is the one attached to your house. Moving the other cars just to get one out can be quite annoying, too, especially if you’re in a hurry or the weather isn’t cooperating.

This scenario happens pretty often. That’s why American Steel Carports encourages you to acquire a 3-bay metal garage for your vehicles. The big advantage of having your garage doors on the side of the building, instead of the end, is that expanding in length is not as expensive as expanding in width. End walls are pricier due to the material needed. With your garage doors on the side, your cars will be just as secure, and at a lower cost.

Take a look at this 26’W x 36’L x 12’H 3-bay metal building as an example:

• A-Frame Vertical Roof

• Horizontal Sides & Ends

• 2 – Windows

• 36×80 Walk-In Door

• 3 – 10×10 Roll-Up Doors (on the side)

*Disclaimer: interior designs may vary by state or region. Buildings may require additional trusses to meet local codes. Prices are subject to change at any time without notice. Please contact our sales department for our latest prices.

Remember that we can always adjust the length, width, and height according to your needs. Door sizes can always be changed. The pictures are just examples of designs and styles that our customers opt for according to their specifications and tastes.

You can always come up with your own design as well. If you have a project in mind, or if you’re looking for a more customized building, give us a call! Let one of our sales representatives assist you. Keep in mind that we can always provide a free sketch for visual purposes until we get to your desired design. Don’t forget to ask for our financing options!

Add Value to Your Property with this Workshop!

Need a new addition on your property? Want a better and bigger workshop?

Have you ever thought about having your own “man cave”? Or perhaps a workshop to work on your vehicles? If your answer to both questions is yes, it’s likely that your main concern about getting a workshop is the price. Metal buildings can range in price depending on the size and number of features added to the unit. Remember that we’re working to meet your expectations. If you’re on a budget, our experts will work with you until we design your perfect building.

So, what if you don’t have a concrete slab? Is your building going to be gone with the wind?

Our buildings don’t necessarily have to be installed on concrete slabs. Leveled surfaces like asphalt and regular ground are typically flat enough to install metal buildings. Additionally, our company offers mobile home and asphalt anchors to secure your metal building, so if you want to get our 90-mph wind warranty, we can still give it to you as long as your purchase all of the necessary anchors. However, keep in mind that any building that exceeds 30’ in width will be required to have a concrete slab.

Take a look at this beautiful metal workshop:

• 30’W x 51’L x 12’H

• A-Frame Vertical Roof

• Horizontal Sides & Ends

• 12×12 Roll-Up Door (front end)

• 8×7 Roll-Up Door (front end)

• 2 – Windows (one on each side)

• 36×72 Walk-In Door (on the side)

• Additional Trussing

• Additional Hat Channels

• Mobile Home Anchors

Disclaimer: Interior designs may vary by state or region. This metal workshop was installed in Colorado. Therefore, it was necessary to add extra trusses in order to meet local codes.

We’re here to help if you’re interested in the same style as the building described above, but if you want to change its dimensions, please give us a call. Let one of our experts help you customize the building of your dreams.

Partially Enclosed RV Cover

Looking for an RV cover?

A camper or a trailer can be a beneficial investment, especially if you use it as a home away from home. However, we need to make sure that we protect our investments so that they last for a really long time. The sun is the number-one element that can damage our RVs. That’s why a metal RV cover is the best option for you!

Some of our customers think it’s expensive to purchase a metal RV cover, since they believe that they need to pour a concrete pad on their land to secure the structure to the ground. That can be done, but only if it’s what our customers really want. There’s no need to pour a concrete pad for your metal RV cover if you don’t want to, since we can anchor the unit to the ground as long as it’s leveled.

For example, look at this metal RV cover installed on the ground:

24’W x 31’L x 12’H

• 14-Gauge

• Standard Roof

• 3′ Side & 9′ Side

• Horizontal End

Mobile Home Anchors

With our mobile home anchors, your metal building can be secured directly to the ground. If you want additional protection, furthermore, you can add our 90-mph wind warranty when you purchase all anchors needed.

The only way to ensure that your RV is fully protected, however, is to make sure that it’s shielded by a metal structure like a carport or garage. Lucky for you, we sell both! If you don’t have one, then there’s not much you can do to make sure that your RV won’t be damaged.
