Metal Workshop in New Mexico

Workshop time!

It’s been three months since the new year began and so far, workshops top the list of the most bought structures this year. With the great quality materials we offer, it’s no wonder that our customers buy our buildings again and again.

Our metal steel buildings can be used as workshops, man caves, or even garages! Depending on the features and options you add to your structure, you can customize it to create exactly the building you need.

So far the wind has been a concern for many states due to the inclement weather adapting itself to the beginning of the spring. Keep in mind that we can certify your metal building in order to withstand those strong winds and harsh weather conditions.

Take a look at this 30′ x 51′ x 12′ metal building used as a workshop:

  • 12-Gauge (20-year limited warranty on rust through of framing)
  • One-year Workmanship Warranty
  • A-Frame Vertical Roof
  • 2 – 10 x 10 Roll-Up Doors  (on the side)
  • 2 – Windows
  • 90-Mph Wind Warranty (Concrete Anchors)

With our A-Frame Vertical roof, it gives the workshop a very unique, residential style, so that it will blend perfectly with the surrounding buildings.

Remember, delivery and installation is included as long as your land is level. Our one-year workmanship warranty ensures the durability and strength of our steel buildings, no matter the season or weather conditions.

The Importance of Having Mobile Home/Asphalt/Concrete Anchors

“Why do I need a wind warranty? Nothing happens here anyway! The anchors are an unnecessary expense! I’ll just stick with the rebar anchors.”

These are some of the comments that we hear all the time. However, strong winds can always catch us by surprise, especially at the start of summer. It’s better to stay safe than be sorry later on.

One of the things you must know is that we do offer free rebar anchors (measuring 30”), but those are only temporary—they don’t come with any type of warranty. That’s why is important for you to consider one of our three other anchor choices that will prevent any type of damage to your carport.

We offer both asphalt and mobile home anchors (both measuring 30”) for $25.00 each. Both of these types of anchors stick up 2/5 inches off the ground (the same as the base rail). We also offer concrete anchors (measuring 7”) for $10.00 each.

Here are two examples of why it is so important for you to consider purchasing anchors instead of getting our free rebar ones:

It might seem as if the anchors would not make a difference, but they do, especially in the southern areas of the country.

Nobody but you knows the exact wind scenarios of your area. If you’re not sure about your wind concerns, you can always go to your local building department for more detailed information. Remember, we’re here to help! If you want us to certify your metal building for winds above 90 mph, let us know! We will have our engineering department help build your metal carport or metal garage to withstand those winds.

Give us a call! A sales representative will assist you with all of your questions and doubts. And don’t forget to look at our other products for more ideas or check our blog posts for examples of recent buildings.

Ready For the Summer with Your Future Metal AG Barn?

Let the summer season begin!

Today can be the appropriate time to start looking for a metal building that will protect your livestock from the burning sun. Most southern regions tend to be affected by high seasonal temperatures, so it’s very important to keep your livestock safe and protected from that heat.

What about strong winds?

We can certify your metal building to stand against inclement weather. The pricing will vary depending on your area, since some regions might receive stronger winds than others. However, we believe that it’s better to add protection and be safe at all times.

How can a unit get certified for winds?

As mentioned above, it all depends on which region you’re located in. To ensure the specific wind rates, it is necessary to contact your city or visit your local city building department. Moving forward, the main protection is the addition of extra anchors. Remember, we do offer rebar anchors (temporary anchors) for free, but they do not offer any type of guarantee. For security against up to 90-mph winds, it’s far better to get our mobile home, asphalt, or concrete anchors. If you expect winds that are even stronger than 90 mph, we can add more supports and anchors to engineer certify your building up to 120 mph.

With all of this valuable information, you don’t have to worry! You can choose the type of carport and design that you like the most without having to think about the weather. This customer in Loving, New Mexico decided to get a 48’W x 31’L x 12/7’H  agricultural metal building:

We want to hear your questions or concerns! One of our customer service representatives will be happy to listen to you. Not sure what kind of building you want for your property? Check out our other buildings and blogs for more information. You can start the whole process with a simple call!

14′ Tall Metal Carport

Looking for a simple carport for your RV? Does your RV overpass the 12-foot standard height from the flyers?

At American Steel Carports, we ensure that our metal buildings meet all of your expectations and needs. We can accommodate your requirements, especially when it comes to building permits. Keep in mind that we can add as much material as your unit needs in order to make sure it’s fully protected and certified for the requirements of the city. However, it’s important for you to go to your local building department and talk to them in order to verify all of the state codes. Since all of the states have different requirements when it comes to installations, they might need to see plans or specifics.

When our customers look for metal RV covers, they can be concerned when the leg height that they’re looking for isn’t listed on the pricing flyers. But that doesn’t mean that we cannot go taller than 12 feet; in fact, the tallest we can go on a building is 20 feet in height. However, keep in mind that the leg height cannot exceed the width of the unit.

Take this metal carport as an example. It’s 14 feet tall:

  • 30’W x 41’L x 14’H
  • 12-Gauge Galvanized Tubing
  • A-Frame Vertical Roof

All of our metal units are engineer-certified, and with their one-year workmanship warranty, we allow our buildings to go through all four seasons to make sure that they don’t have any leaks or issues.

Give us a call! If wind and/or snow loads are your main concerns, don’t forget to ask our representatives about our wind warranties and how we can certify your unit when it comes to large amounts of snow.

Two-Car Garage Residential Style

At American Steel Carports, we want to meet your expectations and give you a few options and recommendations for your metal building or garage.

For example, we’ve seen many customers who feel that they need to build wider to make a garage for two vehicles, but who worry that this will increase the price. But putting roll-up doors on the sides is another good way to approach this, especially for two-vehicle garages. Roll-up doors on the sides definitely help make space for vehicles, and this can be adapted to a residential style too (by adding windows, doors, etc.) Please note: Leg height needs to be 1ft tallers than the door height.

This is a great example of a two-car garage installed in Bradford, Arkansas.

It’s stylish, but the best part is that the building is engineer-certified. This

unit was made from 12-gauge galvanized tubing, which gives it a 20-year warranty against rust-through of the framing. With the unit being fully vertical, it allows elements such as dirt, snow, water, etc. to run-off very easy, and it won’t require that much maintenance compared to a horizontal siding unit. It also has a 90 mph wind warranty when you purchase all anchors needed for it; in this case the customer had mobile home anchors.

Most of our customers use their units as a solid garage, a storage facility, or a workshop. However, one of our customers decided to turn her investment into a real business.

Our dear customer, Tracy Marroquin from Tag Custom Products, renovated her business office with a building that she purchased from us. The idea seemed very strange, but Tracy took it to the next level.

The outcome was a success! All of the custom features that she added to her office look incredible, and she paid a great deal of attention to detail.

Did you notice the insulation on the building? Although our customer decided to insulate the unit through a third party, they used a high-quality spray foam. Not only does it look stunning, it keeps the unit cool during hot weather and warm during cold weather.

DISCLAIMER: Adding any type of customizations to the unit, will automatically void any warranties the building might have.

We want to make sure that we meet all your expectations and provide you with high-quality products, most importantly with certified buildings that will last for years.

Many of our customers add lean-tos to their structures, and the way they use them varies with their specific needs. This 30’W x 61’L x 12’H metal structure built in Arkansas is a perfect example of how our buildings can be adapted to a residential style. It also uses our new deluxe windows, and has the A-frame vertical roof style on both the structure itself and the lean-to.

• 2 – 10’x8 Roll-Up Doors (front and back)
